Anna Dermenchyan, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the Director of Quality and Interim Chief Quality Officer for the UCLA Department of Medicine, where she leads initiatives to advance quality, patient safety, and population health across one of the largest departments within UCLA Health. She is committed to addressing systemic gaps in care and creating healthier work environments where all members of the healthcare team can thrive. Nationally, Dr. Dermenchyan serves on multiple boards and committees focused on healthcare quality, ethics, and policy.

Certified in Critical Care (CCRN) and Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Dr. Dermenchyan's work bridges nursing, medicine, and health systems leadership, fostering collaboration across disciplines to improve outcomes, promote equity, and strengthen care delivery. As a leader in national critical care and ethics organizations, she has advanced healthy work environments through publications, presentations, and policy initiatives. In her roles as a policy scholar and media fellow, she has helped raise public awareness of workplace challenges faced by nurses. Her research includes advancing care transitions, strengthening interdisciplinary communication, improving respiratory vaccination rates in vulnerable populations, and applying behavioral economics to preventive health outreach. She also mentors emerging healthcare leaders through the UCLA THINQ Collaborative, an interprofessional quality improvement training program engaging students in applied clinical research and innovation.
